The Story Behind Midi34
I was born in the beautiful city of Quebec, on a Friday in May, at 12:34 PM. Art has always been a part of my life in various forms: piano, dance, theater, photography, sewing, plastic arts, and cinema.
However, I chose to orient my career towards helping others. For twelve enriching and meaningful years, I worked supporting children in difficulty and their families. For some reason, I completely neglected my artistic side during this period.
At the age of 34, a tragic event turned everything upside down, reminding me that life is fragile and that I might not be as strong as I had always thought. On that day, July 3, 2016, I came face to face with death, and the turbulent waters of the St. Lawrence River took my mother. It was 3:34 PM when time stood still.
It was during this period that art made a grand return to my life. It is when I create that I manage to soothe my pain and the void I am trying to come to terms with. Jewelry making is one of the art forms I explore.

As far back as I can remember, I've always had a special love for jewelry. When I was very young, I would spend hours looking at my mother's jewelry, lingering over each detail, admiring them, and proudly wearing them. The first rings and bangles I was given were kept with the greatest care, like treasures protected over the years. They are priceless to me. I sincerely believe that what makes each piece of jewelry even more precious is the story it reminds us of, the memories of a time, a significant person, a place, or a unique event that it brings back.
Jewelry making came instinctively into my life. I didn't choose to change careers, I didn't choose to embark on entrepreneurship. I didn't wake up one morning and decide I was going to become a jewelry designer. All of this happened by accident, in every sense of the word.
Guided by a lucky star who passed on her love for jewelry to me, I founded Midi34 in 2017.

12:34 PM: a significant time, a time I almost never miss, a time at which so many special events have occurred in my life. Life, death, lightning, loss, joys, successes, and great changes. The number 34, a number that follows me everywhere, a number I love, but also sometimes fear. I was later told that the number sequence 1234 means that the person is on the right track, on the right path. Today, I know that Midi34 was my destiny. I also know that our greatest successes are born from life's greatest challenges.
Every piece of jewelry has its own story and marks time. I hope from the bottom of my heart that my jewelry brings you happiness and comfort. May it remind you to never lose hope, may it give you the strength to believe in yourself, and may it make you shine every day.
With love,
Jessie
